It's a cliche - live for now

SparkPeople's Interpretation

When we become too goal centered it becomes easy to completely live in our vision of where we will be in the future without noticing the improvements that we have made in the present. The road to self-change is a long trip, and it is very important to realize what we are shooting for, but we need to make sure that we keep our head in the present so that we can begin enjoying the progress we’ve made to date. If your goal is to loose 40 pounds, then instead of waiting to lose 40 pounds to celebrate, enjoy the small victories and take advantage of your improved health now. This will also serve as motivation to continue striving for our aspirations. If we set ambitious goals then we need to enjoy the road to accomplishing those goals, because life might pass you by if you are always planning for tomorrow without ever enjoying today.

This motivational phrase speaks to me today. Many including yours truly, have been so wrapped up with our worldly wants and have not enjoyed our journey in this life as we should. We are good at creating and counting our wealth (for our future) but not so good at using our material wealth for our enjoyment and benefit others ......

Someone asks me today "What big business are you in since you travel in and out of the country so often?". I laugh and say, "I am in the business of finding happiness for me and others". Not in jest, but it feels like a light bulb has been lit inside of me .....

"I want to look up the sky and observe the cloud formations.
I want to count the pebbles on the beach washed up by the Pacific Ocean.
I want to feel the wind in my face.
I want to experience what my life brings when I am alone in a different place.
I want to ..... see my footsteps, and know that I have walked these steps ....."
