The Faces of Vietnam

The small traders of Hanoi, the common people in Hanoi's busy streets; and the tribal Black H'mong and Dzay people ........... Living their every day lives, with and without us tourists.

The lady who massaged my feet at "Daisy". Her name is Duyen pronounced as Zuyen. I saw her with her friends hanging outside Daisy and so we had a little chat. She taught me a few words. "bang kieu" is a male singer, "ming duai" is a female singer, "lep chai" is handsome (male), "sing gai" is beautiful (female). All's good.

Duyen's two work mates - Dat and Nguyen

The owner of Mai Hotel is Dinh. He used to live in Sydney as a migrant. Now he has made it big back in Hanoi, owning two hotels.

The waiter who serves us Cha Ca
Zeng and her mom. Zeng has stolen all our hearts.

Of all the photos I took I love this the best. What was Zeng thinking when she gazed upon her village down below in the valley?
