BANGKOK HERE WE COME !!!

Kamol and Tuk + us

I can't count how many times we have come to Bangkok
but it is always a place worth visiting when you want the hustle and bustle, and be in throngs of people! And the shopping!

Well, we checked in from Chiang Mai into Kee Mun's usual hotel and off we went exploring and getting lost in seas of faces. This time Bangkok was in sweltering heat. It was soooo HOT! We were drenched in sweat and smells. Even in air conditioned malls and sky trains.

We cannot say we have been to Bangkok without paying a visit to Chatuchak or Jatujak as the Thais would say it. This time we were smarter, we headed straight to the air-conditioned JJ Mall. We got there around 10-ish and had some coffee and snacks before starting out looking for stuff we wanted to buy. A few hours later we were ready to head back for some rest and more shopping in the city's malls.

We did have tremendous trouble getting back to our hotel in a cab due to the horrendous congestion. We opted to get out of the cab before the fare kept rising. We ended up hopping on a skytrain and then changing to an MRT to get back to the hotel.

Somehow this trip to Bangkok we felt overwhelmed, by the heat, the crowds, and everything appeared familiar and jammed. The Bangkok big city life was a bit too rich for us. SM and I decided we would give this city a miss the next few trips .....

There was this side walk full of young people selling their wares: t shirts, hand bags, shoes, crafts. It was just outside the Central World Mall. Unbeknown to us the Red Shirts had been protesting at the same spot (Rajaprasong) since the morning and we were merrily enjoying the atmosphere without a care.

SM and I took a breather and had our down time. A cup of nice coffee and a cake, a bit of rest.

Khun Kamol my good friend came to the hotel to pick us up for dinner. We went to his restaurant CLASSIC BELL, for a sumptuous fair of fusion foods. He and his dear wife Tuk were fantastic hosts. We had so much of good food and so much of kok singing. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you both Kamol and Tuk! You were the reasons we came to the city!
