SM COOKS US A CHICKEN CONGEE LUNCH 鸡丝粥 for lunch today before we go to Chadstone to take a look see and to sort of be in the crowd. She makes this warm dish consisting of sliced carrots and beet roots & basil leaves from our vege garden, dressed in hot garlic oil. The 鸡丝粥 tastes great and is a nice meal on a mild day like today. I like the sauce I make - 老妈香脆辣辣椒油 + sesame oil + soy sauce which goes well with the chicken slices.
At Chastone, unfortunately, SM has missed a step in a shop and landed on her right ankle; most likely spraining it having landed heavily on her right foot but we don't think she has a fracture there. She is in much pain however we push on to have a cup of coffee before going to see Dr Gabriel Goh about it. She is pronounced not fit for work as the sprained ankle is now swollen and she finds it difficult to walk. SM is given a prescription for anti inflammation and pain relief ....
Later at home I help apply a cold pack on her ankle and buy an elastic crepe bandage for the affected ankle; which helps stabilize it when she walks. 不辛中的大辛。
I love this pistachio custard bigne ..... I did not know what it is until I found out later that Bigne or bignoline, are little balls of choux pastry
filled with sweet custard and iced in different flavours
This gingerbread man baked by SM is taking a bath in my flat white .....
