ON THIS DAY THE EVE OF A NEW YEAR SM and I decide to hibernate at home and not do too many "things" but just to have a quiet one. In the days leading up to the 31st we debated whether we would go in to the city to see the fireworks in the end sanity prevails over emotions. We will not be putting with crazy revelers who maybe drunk or rough.
Today's still a work day, being a Monday. I get home a bit early than usual though as there is nothing much going on.... I sit in the front porch and look out to the garden doing a bit of thinking ....
Dinner is ready. We have some BBQ sausages and satay left over from the day before ....
I like fried dried shrimps with my noodle soup ....
SM cooks some mushrooms in the oven ....
And some silver beet we harvest from our vege patch ....
Really quiet affair, not mixing with the crowds, just the two of us. Kind of anti-social. Earlier in the night we watch The Military Tattoo on telly and I stay up late to watch the count down and fireworks display whilst SM sleeps upstairs. I kiss her and wish her Happy NY just after 12 and tuck myself to bed ..... The year is gone and the new is here.
